Setting up Fences

There are moments in time that are so significant that we intentionally build fences around them. It’s our way of marking the moment- of capturing it and holding it in. Life is full of these moments- weddings, big birthdays, transformational retreats, family reunions, etc. When a moment in time is significant enough to plan an event, you are in fact setting up a fence, hemming It in to look back on with joy, wonder and often the reality that nothing was ever the same after that day.

From time to time I am asked why I do events. This is why.

Events cause us to take pause and soak in the moment. They remind us that something significant is unfolding right before our eyes. LIFE is happening. And it is good.

With any profession, there are difficult aspects- for events details and deadlines can in fact be stressful BUT I have seen over and over again the positive impact events have both on individuals and on corporate groups (families, organizations, etc.).  It is seriously such a joy and an honor to walk alongside couples as they plan their weddings. To help relieve pressure so they can enjoy the monumental implications of their wedding day makes all the lists and details worth it.  Corporate events have the potential to build not only their internal teams but also give the organization an opportunity to throw the doors wide open and show the world who they are. Events are meant to gather people together.  Events can be powerful. The truth is, I have a vision for events.  And if you can get a vision for why you are doing whatever you happen to be doing- I am telling you it will make all the difference.
